We try to make ordering as simple as possible. Whenever possible we like potential customers to visit us, as it gives them a chance to meet us, see the workshop and play the instruments. However, in many cases this is not possible. We send instruments all over the world.
When a customer places an order, we will provide them with an expected delivery time (As all our instruments are built to order, delivery times are dependent on our length of waiting list), if necessary a quote for the cost of carriage to anywhere and request a deposit of around 25%. The costs will be agreed upon, and a receipt issued for any deposit.
Around three weeks before the instrument is finally ready, we will contact the customer to let them know, and normally send them an invoice for the balance. This will allow the customer to make arrangements to either visit us to collect the instrument, or finalise arrangements for sending it.
If the customer is visiting us to collect the instrument, we would normally expect them to bring payment for the balance, but on those odd occasions when there is a substantial gap between issuing the final invoice and a visit, we may request the customer to send payment.
If the customer is getting the instrument sent to them, we will expect payment before we send the instrument, except when we are dealing with official organisations, such as Educational Authorities.
In any event ownership of the instrument is retained by Starfish until the instrument is fully paid for at the amount agreed at the time of order.

Our accessory mail order service is by return. We try to keep all accessories in stock. Please order by telephone, email or letter. We are unable to take credit cards so post out an invoice with the order. We ask that you send us payment by return - by cheque, BACS or bank transfer. We ask new customers to pay the first order up front.
